Required

Like Field Type, Required was introduced in the Pattern Creation and Editing section. When defining a Pattern, a Field can be marked as “Required” so if no values are present for the Field, you can be informed right away. This helps ensure that key identifying information and critical datapoints are never missed.

If a Field marked as "Required" is missing, a validation message will display:

This can be resolved by adding a value into the Field and filling the blank Record. If entered value does not pass validation, then the Field Type validation will throw an error.
