background background in tracking frustrations in the experience surrounding surrounding both review and annotation workflows in records editor we prioritized some quality of life updates to the right han panel (rhp) that should relieve some headaches, while setting the stage for more robust validation workflows in the near future whatβs changed? whatβs changed? record tab record tab the record tab will be renamed to data to better inform users of the tab's contents and purpose record details button record details button clicking this button reveals the record details drawer for the primary schema in focus, where a user can monitor any validations specifically attached to the schema data tab exceptions indicator data tab exceptions indicator when fields fail to align with the specified type, are required and missing a value, or a dismissible exception exists in this primary record (or its subrecords) an ! ! icon will precede the tab name, informing users that exceptions are present when records are exception free (excluding custom validations) there will be no icon present in the tab validation tab status indicator validation tab status indicator (if the data tab contains exceptions) this icon will be a circle with a minus sign, indicating that custom validations cannot yet run for the data (if the data tab is exception free) this icon will display the aforementioned ! ! icon indicating that there is a custom validator in an error state note when records are exception free, and all custom validations pass, there will be no icon present in the tab record cell layout record cell layout to accommodate more data being shown by default, each field with in the primary schema is now situated in following order field type icon β‘οΈ schema field name β‘οΈ field value β‘οΈ overflow button review tab review tab the review tab will be renamed to validation to better inform users of the tab's contents and purpose with this update both data type validators and dismissible validators are visually removed from this tab but, as mentioned above, the data tabβs indicator ( ! ! icon) will alert the user if there are exceptions in a primary schema or a subschema note validations in this tab will be in an idle state until the data tab is free of exceptions summary of status for all validations summary of status for all validations a count of how many validations have passed vs how many that have failed validator description tooltip validator description tooltip upon hovering the mouse over a validator, if a description has been attached (signified by blue underline), a tooltip will be revealed, detailing the description itself if the validator fails, and an exception message is present, there will be second tooltip section that will reveal said message show exceptions button show exceptions button clicking this button on any failed validator will route you to the appropriate schema where the failure occurred it operates comparably to the show primary schema button that can be seen in the old rhp for subschemas, clicking the show button will still open the subschema drawer and filter to the offending records, only custom width rhp custom width rhp in addition to the already available collapse button, you are now afforded the ability to drag a handle in between the viewer and rhp to allocate the desired width for both if you have any questions or concerns regarding this most recent update, please reach out to us at support\@alkymi io support\@alkymi io
